This check-off is the second part of a two-part process. Mercy College of Ohio will not be offering the full Basic Life Support class on campus this semester, instead, we have modified the process and will hold skill check-offs on site. Renewal Course requires approximately 5-6 hours, including skills practice and skills testing.CPR/Basic Life Support Courses | Mercy CollegeĬPR/Basic Life Support Courses Jump to related links Initial Provider Course requires approximately 10-12 hours to complete, including skills practice and skills testing. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.ĪCLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care.
